My name is Anuraag Kumar, and I am a second year PhD student at the University of Michigan in the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering. My research is primarily concerned with Applied Probability. Currently, I am working with my advisor Sushil Varma on problems related to online stochastic matching with techniques from Markov chains and random graphs.

I received my Honors BS in Mathematics from the University of Rochester in 2025. My honors thesis examined hitting time distributions of random walks in highly symmetric graphs.

Outside of school, I enjoy playing volleyball, cooking, and playing board games (Quoridor is a recent favorite.)
